Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy
Version 2026-10-01 · Last updated 1 October 2026
1. About kar.show
kar.show ("we", "us") provides a digital marketing service for private sellers. You upload photos and details of your own vehicle, and we produce marketing images, a poster in two formats, written advertising copy and a sales page ("the materials") for you to use in your own vehicle listing.
By buying a pack, logging in or using the service, you ("you", "the seller") agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy below. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Your responsibilities
You must check every photo, the poster and the copy before you use any of them.
You are the advertiser. You alone are responsible for the content and accuracy of your listing, including the price, mileage, condition, history, specifications and any statement made to a buyer.
You may only upload photos of a vehicle you own or are authorised to sell, and only photos you took or have the right to use. You must not upload photos showing other people's personal information, or anything unlawful.
You must give us accurate vehicle details. Where you confirm or correct details (such as trim, engine or gearbox), we rely on what you confirm.
3. Delivery
Everything in your pack is delivered digitally within 24 hours of payment. We SMS you the moment it is ready.
Your sales page is live for 30 days from purchase. After that, R99 once-off keeps it live for another 30 days. Download your pack materials within the first 30 days; after that they may be archived and no longer accessible.
4. Payment and pricing
Packs are sold at a once-off price shown on the website at the time of purchase, including any launch discount. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges. After 30 days you may optionally pay R99 once-off to keep your sales page live for 30 more days, as often as you like.
Payments are processed by PayFast. We do not see or store your card details. PayFast's own terms apply to the payment.
Voucher codes are issued at our discretion, may be withdrawn at any time and have no cash value.
5. All sales final
Packs are digital products, made specifically for your vehicle and delivered on completion. All sales are final.
No refunds or redos are given once a pack is delivered, except where we fail to deliver the pack. If we fail to deliver, contact Support and we will either deliver or refund the amount you paid.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Because packs are custom-made digital content that is delivered on completion, the ECTA cooling-off right does not apply once production has started, to the extent the law allows.
6. Not a party to the sale
kar.show does not sell, buy, inspect, value, finance or warrant any vehicle.
kar.show is not a party to any sale, negotiation or agreement between a seller and a buyer, and is not an agent, broker or dealer for either.
7. Buyer inspection
The materials are marketing material. They are not a representation or warranty of a vehicle's condition, history, specification or value.
Buyers must physically inspect the vehicle (and are encouraged to obtain an independent inspection) and rely only on that inspection and on what the seller tells them directly.
Private vehicle sales in South Africa are typically sold voetstoots (as is). Any voetstoots or other terms of the sale are agreed between seller and buyer only.
8. Images are digitally created and enhanced
Cinematic photos and posters are created with artificial-intelligence tools. Backgrounds, scenes, lighting, reflections, cleaning and polishing are generated or enhanced, and number plates are shown blank.
We use several automated checks to keep your vehicle's identity, colour, wheels, accessories and visible features true to your photos. Automated processes can still make mistakes, and minor differences in details may occur.
Written copy and specifications are prepared from the details you confirm, your photos and manufacturer information. Figures we cannot confirm are left out, but errors can still occur.
You must check the materials and correct or remove anything inaccurate before publishing. Do not publish any image that does not truly represent your vehicle. If you are unsure, contact Support before publishing.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, kar.show, its owners and suppliers are not liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage arising from: your use of the materials; any misrepresentation in a listing; any vehicle sale, failed sale, price or negotiation; or any dispute between a seller and a buyer.
Where we are found liable for any reason, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the pack concerned.
10. Indemnity
You indemnify kar.show and hold it harmless against any claim, loss, damage, cost or expense (including legal costs) made by a buyer or any other third party arising from your listing, your vehicle, your sale, the photos you uploaded or your breach of these terms.
11. Intellectual property and licence
kar.show owns the templates, software, designs and brand used to create the materials.
When your pack is paid for, you receive a non-exclusive licence to use the materials to advertise that vehicle for sale, on any platform, for as long as you are selling it. You may not resell the materials or use them for any other vehicle.
You allow kar.show to use packs as anonymised examples of our work (for example on our website and in advertising). Examples never include your name, cell number or other personal information, and number plates are always blank.
12. Privacy (POPIA)
kar.show is the responsible party for personal information processed through the service, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect: your name and cell number; the photos you upload; vehicle details (such as year, make, model, trim, VIN-decoded specifications, mileage and asking price); payment status (not card details); and basic technical data needed to run the website.
Licence discs: the barcode is read on your phone to get the vehicle's details. Your registration number is not stored and never appears in your materials.
Why we collect it: to create and deliver your pack; to log you in by SMS code; to send you service messages (such as "your pack is ready"); to answer support requests; and to prevent fraud and abuse.
Who we share it with: only service providers needed to run the service — hosting and storage, SMS delivery, PayFast for payments, and AI processing providers that create the materials. They may process information outside South Africa under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell your personal information.
Storage and security: files are kept in private storage and shared only through expiring links. Access is limited to you (through your link or login) and to us for running the service.
Retention: your pack is active for 30 days from purchase and is then archived. Archived information is kept only as long as needed for records, disputes and legal obligations, and is then deleted.
Your rights: you may ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to its processing, by sending a request through Support. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
13. Third-party platforms
AutoTrader, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, WhatsApp and other platforms have their own rules, including rules on AI-created or edited images. You are responsible for complying with the rules of every platform where you publish your listing.
kar.show is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any of these platforms.
14. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms from time to time. The version and date at the top show the current terms. Changes apply to packs bought after the update.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
Contact: please use the Support page for any question, complaint, privacy request or notice.
